Enjoying the snow capped mountains.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Once in the air, it was a quick and smooth flight to Vancouver where you get to go from one end of the airport to the other to clear US customs. \u00a0On a side note, I&#8217;m always impressed how friendly the US security people are. \u00a0They&#8217;re always welcoming when I visit. \u00a0Canada security, on the other hand, try to make you feel guilty for leaving the country!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_448\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-448\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.icenrye.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/flight002.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-448\" src=\"http:\/\/www.icenrye.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/flight002.jpg\" alt=\"Vancouver Airport\" width=\"250\" height=\"187\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.icenryeblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/flight002.jpg 960w, https:\/\/www.icenryeblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/flight002-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.icenryeblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/flight002-900x675.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-448\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A Salmon Roll and Double Double!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Past US security, I saw what has to be the most interesting combination of restaurants. \u00a0A Japanese restaurant and a Tim Hortons! \u00a0I&#8217;ll leave it to you to come up with possible menu selections.<\/p>\n<p>Finally it was on to Vegas. \u00a0This flight, as opposed to the flight from PG, was about 60% full. \u00a0I had the whole row to myself. \u00a0My entertainment on the flight down was the Pixar Classic &#8220;Cars&#8221;. \u00a0Since most of the movie was based on Route 66, I thought I would see what landmarks they used in the film. \u00a0Most of them, I hope to visit.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_447\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-447\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.icenrye.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/flight003.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-447\" src=\"http:\/\/www.icenrye.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/flight003.jpg\" alt=\"sunset\" width=\"250\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.icenryeblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/flight003.jpg 960w, https:\/\/www.icenryeblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/flight003-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.icenryeblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/flight003-900x675.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-447\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sunset at 40,000 feet.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>On the ground, it was off to the car rental center to pick up my vehicle and home for the next two weeks. \u00a0I rented with Alamo. \u00a0I&#8217;ve used them before and really like how they let you pick your car. \u00a0I also took advantage of their on-line check in to bypass the counter. \u00a0What a good move. \u00a0The line up at the Alamo counter was past the entry to the kiosk! \u00a0Because of my early check in, I was able \u00a0to proceed directly to the car lot and grab my wheels. \u00a0From previous trips, I was hoping to get a Chevrolet Cruze. \u00a0I&#8217;ve rented this model twice before and have gotten to appreciate the car. \u00a0Well, my luck was good!
