Mid &#8211; South Coast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Day 6 was a travel day which ended up at my home for the next 4 nights the <a href=\"Oregon Tour 2012 Days 4-5. Cannon Beach \u2013 North Coast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">North Lake \u00a0Resort in Lakeside Oregon<\/a>. \u00a0Simular to my summer agility home, Robert&#8217;s Roost \u00a0in Quesnel, North Lake has lakeside camping and a small marina catering to the fisherman. \u00a0Power and fast WiFi made it perfect.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_380\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-380\" style=\"width: 184px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.icenrye.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Bell.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-380 \" title=\"Bell\" src=\"http:\/\/www.icenrye.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Bell.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"184\" height=\"277\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.icenryeblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Bell.jpg 512w, https:\/\/www.icenryeblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Bell-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 184px) 100vw, 184px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-380\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A memorial bell in Trinidad CA.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Day 7 was California day. \u00a0In 2010, I made it to Crescent City, but didn&#8217;t have time to visit the redwoods south towards Eureka. \u00a0So with an early start, I was southbound. \u00a0Passing attractions I would place on my to-do list for the next day, I was in Cali in no time. \u00a0Redwood National Park, however would turn out to be a bit\u00a0disappointing\u00a0with a &#8220;no dogs&#8221; policy on the trails withen the park. \u00a0So it was a quick drive along the scenic highway. \u00a0A fuel and picture stop at Trinidad and it was northbound back to the camp.<\/p>\n<p>I also took a\u00a0side trip\u00a0to drive the van through a tree! \u00a0At the narrowest portion, I couldn&#8217;t fit a finger between the tree and my driver&#8217;s side mirror. \u00a0It was tighter on the passenger&#8217;s side.<\/p>\n<p>Day 8 was dedicated to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gameparksafari.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">West Coast Game Park<\/a>. \u00a0To say this is a classic tourist trap is an understatement. \u00a0The highlight were the animals that were allowed to roam freely among the people. \u00a0I lost track of the number of peacocks, deer, goats and even llamas that would follow anyone who had food. \u00a0Many times I had to fight the urge to return to the van and grab a clicker!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_381\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-381\" style=\"width: 368px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.icenrye.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/lion.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-381\" title=\"lion\" src=\"http:\/\/www.icenrye.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/lion.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"368\" height=\"246\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.icenryeblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/lion.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.icenryeblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/lion-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 368px) 100vw, 368px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-381\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Lion Doesn&#8217;t Sleep Tonight<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Photography was challenging. \u00a0The animal cages were made of wire fencing and I had to shoot through the fencing. \u00a0Some cages had an area cut out to fit a lens through, however the holes would limit where you could aim the camera. \u00a0So, not many pictures were taken.<\/p>\n<p>After the game park, it was off to a beach for the daily dip into the Pacific. \u00a0The weather today was very windy and the waves were larger than they had been earlier in the week. \u00a0A grabbed my Flip camera and shot some video.<\/p>\n<p>Day 9 was a return to some of the places I visited in 2010. \u00a0First was Florence where I returned to grab another picture of the wooden statue in fromt of a seafood restaurant I ate at two years ago.
